Summers always meant freedom of spirit and when you learned to ride a two-wheeler it was true freedom.
You could go anywhere on your bike, down to the ice cream shop, the park, your friends houses, the corner store for penny candy, the beach, outdoor concerts, to country fairs…
Remember that feeling it brought on the first day of summer when school was over?
Today riding your bike might mean different things but it always brings memories of those days with the feeling of flying. It just makes you happy, that deep feeling of childhood dreams.
Even old, discarded bikes bring nostalgia and memories of carefree days gone by when you spot them in gardens, outside store fronts, or decorating a corner.
Thank goodness they don’t go to waste, they mean to much for that.
Let’s slow down and take a ride along our byways!
